So I get really nervous when I have to teach. Or basically when I am in the spotlight with any kind of pressure on me.
The subject that I think I will be most nervouse to teahc overseas will be different religions. I mean, I think it is important for people to be educated on the different beliefs of the world, but what if my witness isn't strong enough or if I, for some reason, paint a religion in a better light that Christianity? It's a lot of pressure, more so than teaching hygiene/health care.
I can only pray that I will be knowledgable enough on the subject(s) to do them, and God, justice. I just want to do what He wants me to do.

Laura. I see what your saying. But. You can't control whether or not someone will find buddhism or christianity more appealing. you may talk about buddhism. and people might like that idea of religion better than your faith. who knows. don't be nervous though. i think that if you try to paint christianity in a positive light and other religions in a negative light (even subtly) people will see what you are up to and not trust you. its like a crooked real estate agent or a sketchy car salesman. you can see through their bs when they try to paint the picture the way that they want you to see it. what do people want from a real estate agent or a car salesman? someone who is honest. as a missionary i think thats all you can be too. don't be nervous to talk about other religions. if you do it honestly people will listen to you more and respect what you have to say. thats just my two cents on it. :) good luck.
No matter what the topic you are teaching, being knowledgeable and prepared to teach the subject will help your nervous jitters disappear. But sometimes as Dr. Kress has said, "fake it 'til you make it." Because kids can sense if you are unconfident, and will tear you apart and that is the last thing you want in your classroom.
